Editorial Foreword
Abstract
The world economy is experiencing new challenges, such as making renewable energy efficient,
coping with new political developments and economic and political migration.
Recent studies show that the war in Ukraine remains the world's biggest concern, and financial
and climate crises are on the rise. People's concerns about the war are especially deep in Europe:
Poland (90%), Germany (73%), Spain (69%), France (69%) and the UK (55%). In particular, half
of Europeans worry the war may draw in other countries (51%) or lead to nuclear conflict (48%).
While 60% of people worry about the price increases created by the war, 53% also worry about
the humanitarian crisis. 59% of Africans worry that the war is creating food shortages on the
continent. The implications of such a conflict can be seen in all economic and social areas for
European and not only. Researchers became interested in exploring the impact of economic policies,
inflation and as a consequence the cost of living and quality of life. The current global challenges
generated diverse socio-economic research topics to be in the scientific community's attention,
the researcher's contributions focusing on new perspectives and solutions to support businesses and
society to cope with difficult times they are going through and build strong social cohesion.
